Catherine & Tom

East Bridge Escapes, located in North Devon just off the A388, is where comfort meets the great outdoors. Based on a working farm our luxurious glamping pods are nestled in the heart of the countryside, offering the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of nature - all while keeping the comforts of home close at hand.

Our Team

Catherine grew up on East Bridge Farm and is the fourth generation of her family to live here. Over the years, the farm has hosted a variety of agricultural activities, including poultry, pigs, dairy cows, beef cattle, and arable farming. Today, it also features the exciting diversification of glamping.

Catherine has always loved life in the countryside, and from a young age, Catherine has had a passion for horse riding. There are two horses on the farm, and you may spot them during your stay!

She also tends to an ever-growing vegetable patch that keeps her busy throughout the summer months. Keep an eye out for seasonal fruits, vegetables, jams, and chutneys, which may be found in the Farms “Honesty Box” at the end of the lane.

Meet Catherine

Tom grew up in the nearby village of Thornbury, just three miles from East Bridge Farm. From an early age, he loved everything outdoors—and that passion continues to this day.

Tom has always been passionate about farming. Over the years, he’s gained experience working with pigs, cattle, and farm machinery. For 13 years Tom worked for a local plant and machinery company as a contract tractor and digger driver, alongside caring for a herd of beef cattle.

Now while working for himself, we hope to welcome a herd of Tom’s own cattle to the farm—another exciting chapter in our story!

Tom enjoys the fresh produce grown in the gardens and is always happy to lend a hand by creating raised beds or planters whenever extra space is needed.

Meet Tom

The land at East Bridge Farm is still actively farmed and managed by Catherine’s parents, you will see them on and around the farm. During the summer months, they’re busy making hay and harvesting arable crops.

If you’re visiting in peak season, you might be lucky enough to see the farm machinery in action—a real glimpse into traditional farming life!
